Al-Sadr: We will not accept that Babylon is sold and bought, and that its intellectuals must be liberated

The leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr, on Thursday, that he would not accept that the positions are sold in Babylon and bought by the “corrupt and the oppressors,” while called for the wisdom of the wise and the liberation.

“The gate of Babel’s history and the gate of the future is Babylon, and we will not accept that its effects, positions, lands and wealth will be sold and bought by the corrupt and the oppressors,” Sadr said in a tweet at his Twitter account.

“The wise and the wise should be liberated by appropriate social and political means, otherwise they will be with bad hands,” Sadr said. “He is ready to cooperate with them.”

The alliance of Surson had called earlier on Thursday to open an urgent investigation into the mechanism of electing the new governor of Babylon Karrar Abadi, elected by the provincial council on Wednesday, and demanded an investigation into this matter because of the subject of the sale and purchase of the receivables and positions for the purposes of “purely partisan “Pointing out that he will follow the legal ways to stop such violations and manipulation of the capabilities of the people for special and partisan purposes.

Local sources have revealed a political deal signed for the sale of the post of governor of Babylon to Karar Abadi, the son of the sister of the former deputy Ali al-Alaq, noting that a large contractor managed the deal for $ 5 million in exchange for a contractor to rehabilitate the sewerage network to compensate the amount of the deal.

It is noteworthy that the Council of the province of Babylon voted, in an extraordinary session held on Wednesday (October 24, 2018), on the election of Karrar Abbadi, governor of Babylon, replacing Saadiq, the meaning of the Sultan who won the membership of the House of Representatives during the recent elections.

On Wednesday, October 24, 2018, a member of the Babil provincial council, Rady Obeid al-Jubouri, promised the council session that Karrar al-Abadi was elected governor, “without legitimacy”.
