(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and the Kurdistan Regional Government, Nechervan Barzani, discussed the formation of the government to proceed with the completion of constitutional steps through the selection of the President and the appointment of the candidate of the largest bloc.
“The meeting witnessed the compatibility of views regarding the formation of the government and to meet the challenges ahead and to maintain what was achieved after the Peshmerga fought with the federal forces and achieve victory over gangs,” said a statement from the office of al-Abadi.
“The meeting discussed the formation of the government and the importance of moving forward in completing the constitutional steps through the selection of the President of the Republic and the task of appointing the candidate of the largest bloc and stressing that the next government goes with the aspirations of citizens in construction and reconstruction and security.
He pointed out that “the joint files were discussed between the governments of the Center and the region and the emphasis on continuing communication for the benefit of the country.”
