Iraqi President Fuad Masum has issued a decree calling for the House of Representatives to convene next Monday, paving the way for MPs to elect a new government.

The Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq called on all parties, coalitions and successful candidates to register the new parliamentary alliances, following the approval of the Council of the Commission on the procedures and forms for the process of forming political alliances parliamentary.
