“The priority of Kurdistan is the commitment of the Iraqi parties to the principle of real partnership in the administration of the country and the existence of guarantees and a clear mandate for the implementation of partnership and agreements,” the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party Massoud Barzani said during a meeting with the Special Envoy of the US President to the alliance against Daqash.
Barzani said Monday that he had received US special envoy to the coalition against the “Ba’ath” organization, Brett McGurk, and exchanged views on the latest political developments in the region and the situation on the ground in the war against a sympathetic organization in Syria and western Iraq.
The statement said that the meeting was held at the resort of Salah al-Din in the presence of a delegation of McGovern, including US Ambassador to Iraq Douglas Suleiman and US consul in Arbil, Steve Fagin.
The statement added that the meeting highlighted the latest efforts to form a new Iraqi government and new political equations in the political process in Iraq.
On the formation of the new Iraqi government, Barzani stressed that the most important thing that is the priority of the Kurdish parties is the commitment of the Iraqi parties to the principle of real partnership in the administration of the country, as well as the existence of guarantees and mechanisms are clear for the implementation of partnership and agreements.
