ERBIL – A delegation from the Iraqi Victory Alliance, led by Haider al-Abadi is expected to visit the Kurdistan Region in a near future to discuss the formation of the Iraqi future government, an Iraqi official said on Saturday.

Riyaz Tamimi, a leader of the Victory Alliance, told Masala website that the Iraqi delegates will meet with officials from the two major Kurdish factions, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), as Abadi’s coalition is trying to form the largest bloc in the parliament, as cited by Kurdistan 24.

The Shi’ite leader noted that they have no issues to coordinate with any sides across the country for the formation of the biggest coalition.

Iraqi Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) announced the final outcome of the May parliamentary election in which no big changes have occurred compared to the previous results.

The cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, the head of Sa’eroun Alliance, became the winner of the vote by obtaining a total of 54 seats in the parliament.
