(Baghdad: al-Furat News) denied the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, on Saturday, the nomination of his candidate for the presidency of the republic.
“The working body represented within the Political Bureau is responsible for selecting and nominating the candidate, who has not put any names up until now,” said Governor Qader Hama Jan, a member of the party’s political bureau, at a news conference on the sidelines of his visit to the KDP branch.
He said that “the nomination of any member of the Union for the post of President of the Republic back to the governing body of the Union is authorized to take the decision and not other partisan entities.”
Hama Jan, said that “the leadership of the party received a letter from the Central Council proposing the nomination of [Muhammad Saber Ismail] for the post, but that a decision has not been taken yet.”
He denied that “the working body has decided it.”
The news reported on Friday that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan has taken a decision to nominate Mohammed Saber Ismail, a member of the Central Council of the party for the post of President of the Republic.
