He added that “the victory coalition has significant understandings with all blocs, including the Kurdistan Democratic Party, but it has not reached the stage of alliances yet,” stressing that “the visit came at the will of the Kurdish side and not under US pressure.”
He pointed out that “foreign interventions, whether from America or other exist and can not be denied.”
The Kurdish source revealed, Tuesday (31 July 2018), that the meeting, which brought together Prime Minister Haider Abadi and regional government President Nizrvan Barzani, was based on an American desire for rapprochement between the parties.
The source told (Baghdad today) that “the visit of the Kurdistan Regional Government President Nechirvan Barzani and held a meeting with Prime Minister Haider Abadi came on the basis of a US desire for rapprochement between the parties,” noting that “Barzani’s visit was not a government at all but a party visit paving the way for a future alliance Between the parties in the coming period. ”
“Barzani used his government visits to accompany his deputy, Qubad Talabani, but this time he preferred to be alone because the visit was partisan and came with a US desire from the US president’s envoy in order to ally with Abadi.”
He pointed out that “this visit came after a great rapprochement between the Kurdistan Democratic and the Fatah and the law so Barzani’s visit came to reassure Abadi about the desire to ally with him, but Barzani preferred to listen to him and his future vision on the issue of oil export and other problems.”
On Tuesday, July 31, 2018, US Special Envoy to the International Coalition Brett McGuck said that the meeting between Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Nechirvan Barzani was a step to enhance security and economic cooperation between the two sides.
“These talks are aimed at strengthening security and economic cooperation based on the constitution,” he said.
“The talks between the two leaders in Baghdad are crucial to ensure the permanent defeat of a supportive organization and meet the demands of all citizens,” he said.
On Monday, July 30, 2018, Abbadi and Barzani held consultations in several files according to a statement from the office of Abbadi. The two sides also stressed “the importance of communication and exchange of dialogue in order to promote joint national action after concerted efforts to achieve victory over gangs.”
The statement said that the Barzani-Ebadi meeting witnessed “convergence of views” towards addressing the challenges facing the country and the next stage and move forward to form the next government to meet the demands of the Iraqi people in support of the economy and reconstruction and provide services and job creation.
The Kurdistan Regional Government said in a statement that “the meeting between Abadi and Barzani stressed the coordination between the Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi army in the face of terrorism.”
This is the fourth meeting between Abadi and Najirvan Barzani since the referendum held by the Kurdistan region in September 2017 Baghdad responded violently.
