The House of Representatives announced on Friday, the resumption of its meeting on the “extension of the work of parliament” headed by Salim Jubouri, and the presence of about 90 deputies.
The parliamentary source, in an interview with (Baghdad today), “The House of Representatives resumed its special session to extend the work of Parliament, this afternoon, headed by the President of the Council, Salim al-Jubouri, and the presence of about 90 deputies.”
The source added that “the Legal Committee in the Council submitted (the law extending the life of the House of Representatives)
The parliamentary source, reported earlier on Friday, that the Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri, entered the parliament hall in the presence of less than 25 deputies, while he stressed that the invitation to attend this meeting comes to extend the life of the House of Representatives.
The parliamentary legal committee had revealed earlier in the day, that the House of Representatives will discuss the extension of its work to oversee the process of counting and sorting the results of the election, and not to enter the country with a constitutional vacuum, she said.
The presidency of the parliament, called on Thursday, to convene an extraordinary session on Friday.
According to the Information Service of the House of Representatives, the Presidency of the Council called on the deputies to attend an extraordinary session on Friday, 22 June at 4 pm.
