On Thursday, the United Arab Emirates listed nine entities and individuals on its approved list of individuals and terrorist organizations.
“The decision comes as part of the UAE’s keenness to target and disrupt the networks associated with the financing of terrorism and related activities,” the UAE news agency WAM reported.
“The inclusion of individuals and entities in the list came because they bought and transferred millions of dollars to the Quds Force of the IRGC and its agents to finance destabilizing activities in the region by concealing the purpose for which they were paid,” she said.
“The Iranian entities and individuals were listed as a result of close cooperation between the UAE and the United States of America, which included the individuals and entities on its list,” the agency said.
US Treasury Secretary Stephen Menuchin praised the efforts of the United Arab Emirates and its close cooperation in this regard, stressing that “all countries of the world should take note of Iran’s efforts to exploit the financial institutions of other countries to exchange currencies and finance terrorist actors in the Revolutionary Guard Iranian, “as I described it.
