The United States of America on Tuesday stressed the continued assistance to the Kurdistan region as an important partner to prevent the recurrence of extremism and terrorism in the region.

This came during the reception of the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Nechirvan Barzani, a delegation of US military and senior diplomat.

A statement to the presidency of the provincial government responded to the news that Barzani received today, the commander of US forces in Iraq and Syria, Lieutenant General Paul Vuk, Deputy Iraqi Ambassador to Iraq and the US Consul General in the Kurdistan region and a military delegation accompanied them.

The Cabinet voted on Tuesday during its regular session chaired by Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi on several resolutions including voting on a loan that supports social stability in Iraq.

ERBIL – Chancellor of Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC) Masrour Barzani received on Tuesday Operation Inherent Resolve Commander Lieutenant General Paul Funk to discuss the latest political and security developments in the region and ties between Erbil and Washington.
