Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Sunday held a meeting with ambassadors of European Union countries to discuss further cooperation with them.
“Abadi held a meeting of the ambassadors of the European Union countries, during which he discussed enhancing cooperation with the European Union countries and their contribution to the reconstruction of Iraq after the victory over terrorist gangs in addition to the situation in the region,” his office said in a statement received by Al-Ghad Press, .
“Abadi stressed the importance of cooperation and strengthening relations with EU countries,” he said. “We are trying to make our relations with all countries based on common interests and non-interference in internal affairs.”
“Abadi stressed that the Kuwait conference was successful in giving a message that the world extends its hand to Iraq for its reconstruction and stability after it has won the support of the terrorist.”
He pointed out that “Iraq is facing other challenges after our success in overcoming the challenge of organizing a supporter of the terrorist, including the reconstruction of the country and the provision of employment opportunities and Nnamadon these plans and stimulate the private sector.”
“The security forces currently have high professionalism and have operations to track terrorist cells after the liberation of all of Iraq,” he said.
For their part, praised the ambassadors of the European Union countries, “the steps of Prime Minister Haidar Abadi reformist and victory over gangs, calling for terrorism, stressing the continued support of their countries to Iraq and its reconstruction and stability.”
