
The news office of the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said that the latter received a telephone call Monday from King Salman bin Abdul Aziz.
A statement issued by the office said that during the meeting, they discussed boosting cooperation between the two countries and congratulating the success of the friendly match between the two countries’ teams.
King Salman stressed the importance of strengthening the relations and brotherhood between the two countries and supporting the Kingdom’s efforts to rebuild Iraq and its unity.
The statement said that King Salman “expressed his pleasure at the success of the friendly match between the two teams, noting that it is an occasion to give a stadium to Iraq and renew cooperation and work between the two countries.”
“The friendly match has seen a great public reaction, a healthy and positive situation,” the statement quoted Abadi as saying.
“The importance of the Iraqi-Saudi Coordination Council for its encouragement to the private sector and investment.”
