The city of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, marathon of peace and brotherhood, national reconciliation and peaceful coexistence, on March 11.

The two organizations, the Marathon of Peace in Kurdistan and the son of the deceased, have for the first time held an international half-marathon of peace on 11/3/2018.

The event will bring together all segments of society from both sexes, diplomatic missions and international institutions working in the region to deliver the message of peace, fraternity and national reconciliation.

“The Marathon Peace Organization and the son of the deceased through sport provide the message of brotherhood, peace and peaceful coexistence to all segments of society and to the peoples of the world,” said Delir Ibrahim, a member of the Marathon High Commission.

“It includes a marathon of peace: 21 km (half a marathon), 5 km (family run), 2 km (for children and people with special needs).”

He pointed out that the registration places are: Jogging track in Park Sami Abdul Rahman, Shander Park, Park Char (city center) or by electronic registration.
