The Iranian consulate in Sulaymaniyah confirmed on Friday that the talks between Baghdad and Erbil have gone through important stages to resolve all the dilemmas between the region and the center.
Abdullah Masoudian, the Iranian consul in the city of Sulaymaniyah, said in a press statement today that “the relationship between Baghdad and Erbil improved, appreciating the role and position of the territorial government to resolve the outstanding issues.”
The Iranian consul stressed that his country will spare no effort in achieving stability. He described the dialogue between the regional government’s president, Nechirvan Barzani, and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on the sidelines of the Munich conference of security in a positive and important manner.
Masoudian pointed out that the governments of Erbil and Baghdad have made important strides in some files, especially regarding the technical matters that are going well, noting that the ban on airports in the region may be lifted soon.
