The news agency ‘Shafak News’ news, a decision issued by the Civil Aviation Authority to expect the Director General of the Iraqi National Operations Center Abdul Amir Mohammed Ali, which sets the date of the twenty-eighth of this month a date for the resumption of international flights from the airports of Arbil and Sulaymaniyah international for the pilgrims from the region.
According to the decision, Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi agreed to the civil aircraft flights from Sulaymaniyah and Arbil international airports provided they are provided with full information on the number of flights periodically.
The Association of Hajj and Umrah companies in the Kurdistan Region, has revealed on Thursday, the approval of Prime Minister Haider Abadi, the operation of flights for pilgrims from and to Erbil and Sulaymaniyah international airports.
The member of the Association Mahmoud Abdullah said in a press statement that ‘Mr. Abadi’s approval was obtained to open the Sulaymaniyah and Erbil airports to transport the Iraqi immigrants from and to the two airports above after submitting a request from the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in the region addressed to the Supreme Commission for Hajj and Umrah. Abdullah said that ‘a new mechanism will be adopted by the conduct of flights, as the Ministry of Awqaf in the region will send a delegation on the demarcation of the mechanism and very soon the work is done’.
