Nechirvan Barzani receives a message from the Secretary-General of the United Nations

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, on Friday, the support of the International Organization to resolve the differences between Arbil and Baghdad peacefully and through political negotiations in accordance with the principles of the Iraqi constitution.
The Kurdistan Regional Government said in an official statement today that “the Prime Minister of the Territory, Nechirvan Barzani received a message from the Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres.”
The statement added that “Guterres stressed in his letter on the need to resolve the differences between Erbil and Baghdad peacefully and through political negotiations in accordance with the principles of the Iraqi constitution, adding that we encourage the two sides on the need to find the ground to enable them to start a real dialogue.
The Secretary-General expressed his happiness with the announcement by the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Government and on several occasions their openness to negotiations.
“In the midst of progress towards national reconciliation, greater stability in the region, and the confrontation of the dangers that still stand in its way, it is necessary to maintain stability,” the Secretary-General said in his message to Barzani.
