The Kurdish Change bloc demanded on Sunday the resignation of Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani and his deputy Kosrat Rasul as well as the provincial government and the formation of what it called the government of “national rescue.”

The movement said after a meeting of its leaders in Sulaymaniyah, that the movement calls for the resignation of the President of the region and his deputy and the provincial government and the formation of a national rescue government.

The movement, which was opposed to holding a referendum on independence, also called for the regional parliament to hold its sessions under its “legitimate” rule.

The National Salvation Government should begin dialogue and negotiation with the Federal Government on the principle of retaining the current entity in the Territory.

She added that the government to be formed should “work to stop attacks on Kurdish citizens in areas controlled by the federal government and compensation for those affected by the military operations, through the formation of a committee to follow up those losses.”
