A spokesman for UN Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric said on Monday that the activities of the United Nations organizations in the Kurdistan region will continue without any reduction, calling for addressing the problems between Arbil and Baghdad through negotiation and dialogue.
In a statement issued today, Duyarek expressed the concern of the United Nations organizations about the potential negative effects of the referendum held by the Kurdistan Region today, pointing out that the Secretary-General of the Organization believes that all outstanding problems between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government should be resolved through in-depth dialogues and constructive negotiations.
He added that the Secretary-General expected the United Nations to continue its activities in Iraq, including the Kurdistan region without any reduction, and called on the parties concerned to continue its cooperation with the UN envoy.
Observers point out that this international statement is a flexible statement that does not contain any intensity and does not contain any rejection of the results of the referendum in the region, which shows that the international organization will deal with the results of the referendum later.
