Kurdish authorities have announced the members of the delegation that will visit Baghdad next week to discuss the region’s independence referendum.
The seven members come from different Kurdish parties.
The members of the delegation are: Fuad Hussein, chief of staff to the Kurdistan Region presidency, Saadi Pire of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Rozhnuri Shaweys of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Mohammed Ahmed of the Kurdistan Islamic Union (KIU), Majid Osman representing Turkmen, Christian representative Romeo Hakari, and Yezidi member of the KDP Vian Dakhil.
The delegation is tasked with launching discussions with the Baghdad central government regarding the September 25th referendum.
Iraqi PM Haider al-Abadi announced he welcomes the Kurdistan region delegation to Baghdad.
