Al-Jaafari to Kurdish deputies: the referendum of Kurdistan is not in the interest of the unity of Iraq

(Baghdad: al-Furat News) Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari told MPs that the referendum of the Kurdistan region to be held on the 25th of next September does not in the interest of the unity of Iraq.

The Kurdish parties agreed on 7 June to hold a referendum next September 25 elections on November 6, with the exception of opposition to change the Islamic Group of Kurdistan.
The countries of Iran, Turkey, the United States, Russia, the United Nations and Germany, as well as Baghdad, have opposed holding the Kurdistan independence referendum to threaten the unity of Iraq.
