A delegation from the Higher Committee formed for the referendum of the Kurdistan Region will visit the Iraqi capital Baghdad to negotiate with the federal government on the issue of the referendum on independence scheduled for 25 September.
According to the reports, the delegation consisted of a member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Rose Nuri Shaways, a member of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan Adnan Mufti, President of the Office of the Presidency of Kurdistan Region Fuad Hussein, a member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Islamic Union Khalil Ibrahim, And another about the Christian component.
It is expected that the delegation will visit Baghdad this week, noting that the delegation will meet with Prime Minister Haider Abadi, Iraqi President Fuad Masum, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri, and the political forces active in the Iraqi arena.
The reports indicated that the delegation will inform the three presidencies of the insistence of the leadership of Kurdistan to proceed to hold the referendum on schedule.
