The Supreme Council for the referendum in the Kurdistan region, on Sunday, at the end of its meeting under the supervision of the President of the region Massoud Barzani and the presence of political parties and other national and religious components in the resort of Salah al-Din to form a delegation for dialogue with Baghdad and activate the parliament of the region.
The final communiqué said that “Massoud Barzani and Kuzrat Rasul Ali are required to form a Kurdish delegation for dialogue with Baghdad on the referendum, in addition to approving the activation of the parliament of Kurdistan within two weeks to solve the problems and support the draft referendum.”
“The Supreme Council for the Referendum has expressed its views and proposals on the basic principles of the referendum,” the communique said.
It is noteworthy that the Kurdistan region intends to hold a referendum on independence in the September 25 next amid opposition to Baghdad and the lack of support from many countries in the region and the world.
