Iraqi prime minister Haider al-Abadi asserted on Monday the victories achieved in Mosul has initiated a new era for Iraq at home and abroad.
In a ceremony held at the Islamic Da’wa party to celebrate Mosul’s full control from ISIS, Abadi said this victory has been achieved when the Iraqis of the southern parts rose up to defend Anbar, Mosul and Salahudduin provinces, forsaking sectarianism.
The government has no way but maintaining unity and preventing sectarianism and infighting, he stressed.
All Iraqis are unified. And those foment sectarianism are pariahs, Abadi continued, adding the Iraqi forces have become welcome in all parts of Iraq.
On June 29, Mosul has been declared as ISIS-free after months-long battles.
