GlobOn behalf of President Trump and the American people, I congratulate Prime Minister Abadi and the Iraqi people on their liberation of Mosul. This is a critical milestone in the global fight against ISIS, and underscores the success of the international effort led by the Iraqi Security Forces.
We honor the sacrifices of the Iraqi Security Forces and Iraqi people, as well as the Kurdish Peshmerga, in achieving this victory, and express condolences for the many lives lost in the operation.
During ISIS’s brutal occupation of Mosul, it terrorized and brutally murdered thousands of civilians, used mosques, schools and hospitals as bomb-building facilities and fighting positions and just recently, facing defeat, destroyed the historic al-Nuri mosque and al-Hadba minaret.
Under Iraqi leadership, the United States and our Coalition partners will continue to work closely with the UN to stabilize liberated areas through Mosul, supporting the return of displaced civilians to their homes.
There is still much work to be done to defeat this enemy. The Global Coalition will continue to stand with our Iraqi partners to ensure that ISIS is defeated where it remains in Iraq.

“New York Times” newspaper, the US considered that the declaration of the Iraqi forces, the restoration of the city of Mosul (northern Iraq), from the control of the organization Daesh “does not mean the end of Daesh”, stressing that the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq in 2011 to open the way for the existence of the organization Daesh.
However, the paper however, in its edition of Monday, its opinion by saying that the restoration of the city of Mosul, which have been controlled by the organization about 3 years, is an important and critical stage in the war on the organization Daesh.
And wondered how to ensure the defeat of the organization is real, especially in the areas of Iraq and Syria, under the survival of the political and economic conditions that contributed to the emergence of the organization in 2014, and asked about the US role in preventing the return of the organization Daesh.
The answer to her question about the newspaper itself, saying that the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq in 2011 to open the way for the existence of the organization Daesh, expressing the belief that the “American survival seems to be necessary; to contribute to the training of Iraqi forces and intelligence, not fighting.”
And comparing the period following the termination of the rule of former President Saddam Hussein, and the post “Daesh” in Iraq, arguing that “the organization of Daesh is an alternative to Saddam Hussein’s regime,” referring not to change the security situation after the elimination of the latter system.
He adds: “Fifteen years have passed since the overthrow of Saddam Hussein’s regime by US forces, and then remained the hardest question: What will be our responsibility then?”.
The relay newspaper: “the euphoria of victory over the strongholds of the organization in Mosul, will be extended to US President Donald Trump Management”, expressing the belief that the White House did not plan to post “Daesh”.
Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, Sunday, the victory of his forces to organize Daesh in the city of Mosul, after fighting operations lasted for about 8 months.
According to the US newspaper that the most important and urgent demand in the next stage, is the repatriation of more than 670 thousand Iraqi cities to which they were displaced forcibly process, and discussed the reconstruction of what was destroyed mechanism.
In this regard, the paper says that an international coalition of 68 countries led by the United States to fight al Daesh, he vowed from the beginning to gather the necessary for the reconstruction of Mosul funds through the United Nations.
With regard to challenge the largest in Iraq and Syria, it is Sunni Arabs (25 million people) who reject their governments, which means the continued persecution and prosecution against them operations; and then continued Alttarif, according to the opinion of the newspaper.
She adds: “No signs to end the sectarian conflict that produced (Daesh) in Iraq, especially with the continued pursuit of Sunni Muslims in Syria and Iraq.”
The newspaper believes that the US diplomatic role comes in this regard, says that “Iraq is not subject to the dictates of Washington as a sovereign state, but America can motivate the Iraqis and help them to move in the right direction, and that support the current Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.”
The paper describes the US role in supporting Abadi by giving federal Iraqi provinces provide materials and services and regulate the lives of the Iraqi people, saying that it is necessary “to convince the Sunnis in Iraq that their future with the Iraqi state and not the terrorist organization Daesh.”
The Iraqi government called for the start of “activating the popular crowd and put the law factions under the control of the Iraqi state, with far from politics and Sunni areas of survival,” Trump also called for management to put pressure on “Iraq’s neighbors to strengthen ties with him.”
Among obstacles to the stability of Iraq, the newspaper considered that what it called Kurdish ambitions pose another obstacle to achieving stability on Iraqi territory, especially with the invitation of the President of the Kurdistan region, Massoud Barzani, to a referendum on independence for the region in September / September next.
Barzani comes after the declaration of the control of Kurdish forces units on large parts of the disputed areas between Baghdad and Erbil in northern Iraq, in the light of indications not to Ankara and Tehran satisfaction on the step of the referendum as an idea.
