The head of the Kurdistan region, Massoud Barzani, on Wednesday, he rejected a request from the administration of US President Donald Trump, calling on him to postpone the referendum on independence.
Barzani said in an interview with AFP that “any attempt to disrupt the referendum process in the region brings tragedies and woes and causes a bloody war.”
Barzani said that shortly after the referendum on independence will be organized presidential and parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan region, “asserting that he will not run for a second term.”
