Central Bank: Iraq ranked 37 internationally Baanaat Gold Journal

Spokesman for the “Central Bank of Iraq,” Acer Jabbar Iraq ranked the top 37 globally among the 100 countries listed in the gold reserves according to international standards and financial statistics and report of the World Central Bank reserves.

He added Jabbar’s «Journal News» that “Iraq has gold in its vaults an estimated 89.8 tonnes, and this figure represents 4.6% of its reserves of foreign currency,” adding that “Iraq did not buy gold since the last purchase in a month in April 2014 then bought 15.16 tons. ”

He said Jabbar that “the Central Bank of Iraq announced, in April 2014, the arrival of gold reserves to 90 tons to support the value of the Iraqi dinar.”
