KRG welcomes the joint project for reorganizing the Pesherga forces

On May 7, 2017 KRG officials, including PM Nechirvan Barzani and senior military officials, held a meeting with a delegation consisting of military advisors from US, UK and Germany defense ministries to discuss the plan prepared by these countries for reorganizing and professionalizing the Peshmerga forces.
The foreign military advisors presented their joint project consisting of 35 articles to KRG aimed at establishing a strong and professional army for Peshmerga.
KRG PM thanked the members of the Global Coalition for their continued support to Kurdistan Region.
He stated that KRG welcomes the project and the KRG Council of Ministers will discuss it in a session for approval. The project will later be handed to the Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Kurdish armed forces, to issue an order for its implementation.
