Twilight News / General Secretariat of the Iraqi Council of Ministers announced on Saturday that on Sunday a public holiday on the occasion of the first of Muharram,
The Secretariat said in a statement, the Islamic New Year holiday is on Sunday, 10.02.2016, albeit holiday on the tenth of Muharram will be on Wednesday 10.12.2016.
The supreme authority of the Office of the Shiites in Iraq, Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani has declared that the day after tomorrow is the first day of the month of Muharram, while the Sunni Endowment announced on Sunday is the first day of the month.
