Sistani’s office announce Monday the first day of the month of Muharram

Declared the supreme religious authority Ali Sistani’s office on Saturday, the day after tomorrow, Monday will be the first day of the month of Muharram.

A statement by the Office of the highest religious authority, al-Sistani, received a (long-Presse), a copy of it, that “the day after the Monday (3 October 2016), is the first of the month of Muharram of the year 1438 AH.”

The statement stressed that “on Sunday is supplementing the month of Dhu al-Hijjah no man’s land.”

The Shiite Muslims in Iraq has renewed a year later (2003), the commemoration of Ashura on the tenth of the month of Muharram every year, after it barred the former regime of revival, Ashura is one of the largest religious events among Shiites, as they revive the memory of the death of Imam Hussein bin Ali bin Abi Talib, in Karbala, in an atmosphere clouded with grief, where blacks and raise flags, central councils, which tells the tragic biography of the event.
