Ban Ki-moon to visit Kuwait next Sunday

on Thursday announced that the Secretary – General of the United Nations Ban Ki – moon will travel on Sunday to the State of Kuwait at the start of a regional tour that also includes the occupied Palestinian territories.

A spokesman for the Secretary – General Stephane Dujarric said he would meet in Kuwait with Emir Sabah Al – Ahmad Al – Jaber Al – Sabah. 

Dujarric said he would meet during the visit of a one – day with His Highness Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al- Hamad Al – Sabah , Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al – Hamad Al- Sabah . 

he noted that since Kuwait is now hosting the peace consultations Yemen, the secretary – general will also meet his special envoy to Yemen , Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed , and the parties of Yemen to participate in consultations run by the United Nations. 

he disclosed the spokesman for Ban Ki – moon will go after Kuwait to the occupied Palestinian territories where he will visit the Gaza Strip , a school for girls run by the Relief and Works agency for Palestine refugees [UNRWA] will also participate in a meeting of the Parliament of the Central school in Gaza. 

He will visit that as well as a reconstruction projects and then hold an open meeting with United Nations staff working in the Gaza Strip before it concludes visit to meet with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah.
