A spokesman for the international coalition forces Saif Warren said that the second installment of the “F-16 as” aircraft arrived in Iraq, including two aircraft, pointing out that the number of aircraft used in the Iraqi Air Force of this model increased to six aircraft.
Warren said in a statement to reporters that this aircraft is part of a deal under which Iraq bought 36 aircraft from the United States.
He pointed out that the use of these aircraft will be primarily for the goals of pre-planned operations and air support.
Warren and between the date of receipt of Iraq’s third batch of F – 16 have not yet been determined, adding that the delay in delivery of the rest of the aircraft due to reasons including the nature of the training received by members of the Iraqi air force on the leadership of these aircraft, and the availability of US trainers to do so.
