Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization “NATO” Jens Stoltenberg, on Friday, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi told the approval of the alliance to build Iraq’s military capabilities, while providing student Abadi NATO’s mine and IED devices.

Ebadi said Office in a statement received for News Agency (et) a copy of it, that “the Prime Minister received today a telephone call from the secretary-general of NATO North Atlantic Jens Stoltenberg, where they discussed the security situation in Iraq and the region and train and equip Iraqi forces and NATO help for Iraq in his war against the terrorist gangs. ”

The statement added that “NATO Secretary General informed the Prime Minister during this call with the consent of the members of the alliance to contribute to the construction of Iraq’s capabilities and develop its capabilities in military fields, vitality and provide full support to him.”

The statement quoted Stoltenberg as saying that “NATO is working to develop policies to implement the action plan include the provision of military training and medical services within a period of six months, in cooperation with the Iraqi government after placing important priorities in these areas.”

For his part, al-Abadi expressed thanks to the Secretary General of NATO on “This step is very important to help Iraq and the region and the whole world in the effort to defeat terrorism and confront this serious challenge as well as the development of military capabilities of Iraq and the consolidation of human rights principles and to contribute to the stability of the region”, according to the statement .

Abadi stressed that “there is an urgent need to provide special mine and improvised explosive devices that have long caused a lot of losses and hampered progress of the Iraqi forces, so the devices that it needs to address the vessels.”

According to a statement Abadi office, “the secretary-general agreed on the importance of processing this type of device as soon as the preparation of important priorities to help Iraq after discussion with members of the coalition.”

The NATO announced, in (11 December 2014), that Iraq is considering a request for help in building its army and defense capabilities to meet the “Daash,” adding that the organization poses a serious threat to the Iraqi and Syrian peoples and the region more broadly.
